“Mono School” is one of the important Art Movement in the Japan’s Art history occurred from the end of 60s’ to 70s’ after the war. Materials such as wood and stone are appeared as the main role without processing, and expanded by artists as an expression act. Suga Kishio, and other artists who introduced in this sale such as Lee U-Fan, Sekine Nobuo and Koshimizu Susumu are well known as the main members of Mono School, are highly appreciated both in Japan and overseas. Suga are still activating to develop and present new work nowadays. Starting from the large scale Retrospective exhibition held at Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan, coming with more exhibitions held in Europe and the United States such as Scottish National Museum of Modern Art. This year, he also held his exhibition in Contemporary art gallery “Blum & Poe” in New York, made remarkable international success in the recent years.
