HOW TO BUY

To participate the auction, a prior registration is needed. You may join the auction by giving a visit to the auction venue, by absentee bid, by telephone bid or by live bid. You may complete the registration online at this site and the procedure as below.

Registration

There are differences between "Subscriber" and "Bidder". To participate the auction, you need to register as "Bidder". Since it normally takes time for the identity verification, we strongly advise you to complete the bidder registration in advance. Please submit the following document(s) to complete te identity verification. *Additional document(s) may be required.

Auction Catalog

Online Catalog is typically ready three weeks prior to the auction. Bidders can find more detailed information such as images from different angles and more details and explanation of the lots, which allows the bidder to have a more comprehensive reference for placing a bid. Printed catalogue is also availble and please contact us for more details.

Preview

Auction Preview will be held a few days before the auction. All lots in the catalogue will be installed and exhibited and you can examine the lot's condition in person. Moreover, our staff is always ready to answer your questions and we are able to provide consultation at the preview venue.

Bid

Bid in person

Please register to attend the auction by one of the following methods priot to a day before the auction.

  • After registering as a main member from online (Button in the list of works for each auction)
  • During the preview of an auction at the reception desk
  • Mail, Fax, Email the application of Bidder Registration Form attached to a catalog

If you miss the deadline to register, please come to the venue and register at the reception desk on the day of an auction.
On the day of an auction, pleae get a paddle number at the reception and enter the venue.
The auctioneer will raise the prices according to the bidding increments and everytime the bidder raise a paddle, the price will go up. When the auctioneer hit the hammer, then, the price will be the winning bid and it will become the hammer price.

Bid by Absentee

You may place the absentee bid in the page of "work details" when browsing the online catalog. Alternatively, you may also fill in the "Bid Form" which is at the end of the printed catalog, and return by mail, fax, or email by the day before the auction. Please also inform us for the absentee bid application after sent and we will confirm the form received with you accordingly. One of our representatives will place bid(s) on your behalf on the auction day and compete with other bidders up to your maximum amount.

Bid by Telephone

You may place the telephone bid in the page of "work details" when browsing the online catalogue. Alternatively, you may also fill in the "Bid Form" which is at the end of the printed catalogue, and return by mail, fax, or email by the day before the auction. Please also inform us for the telephone bid application after sent and we will confirm the form received with you accordingly. One of our representatives will contact you via the provided number and place bid(s) bid in real time with you over the phone on the auction day. If the phone call cannot be made successfully, our representatives will place bid(s) on your behalf on the auction day and compete with other bidders up to your maximum amount provided.

Live Bid

"Live Bid" that allows you to bid online on the auction day. Please complete the registration by the day before the auction. Once your registration to bid has been completed, you will be able to place bid in our "Live Bid" during the auction.

Aftersale

Aftersale will last for 10 business days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in Japan, from the day after the end of the auction (or the last day if the auction is held over multiple days).

Payment

Successful bidders shall receive the invoice after winning the lots during the auction. Auction results will be annouced through the homepage days after the auction. The invoice amount will be the hammer price plus the buyer's premium plus the consumption tax on the buyer's premium (if applicable). Successful bidders must complete the payment on the invoice amount by cash, bank transfer, or by credit card (Visa / Master, additioncal charges applies) within 14 calendar days after the auction.

Delivery of Purchased Lots

There are three ways to receive your purchased lot:
1. Pick up at New Art Est-Ouest Auctions,
2. Use our designated art packaging and delivery company,
3. Use your own packing and delivery company.
The purchased lot(s) will be handed over to the successful bidder or authorized third parties only if the payment is confirmed received.
